The Crossing is led by an active group of committed students through our Student Leadership Team:

The Crossing is a recognized student organization on campus. We are committed to sharing our vision of God’s radical love with everyone regardless of race, gender, sexuality, or religious affiliation. Our team meets regularly to plan service, social, and outreach programs.

Meet our 2020 Student Leadership Team!

Anna Walther (Director of Service)
As an undergraduate, I was very involved in the Crossing and in leadership — and am now doing so as a graduate student in the school of Social Work.  I firmly believe in The Crossing’s  mission to provide students a place to explore their faith freely while building loving community.  I love supporting local community organizations and connecting students with meaningful volunteer opportunities.

Doug Meier (Director of Outreach)
I’m excited to serve on the Student Leadership Team to help other students find the most accepting religious space I have ever been a part of through helping at worship and the Freshman Focus Group.  I hope you will visit us (virtually — or at The Crossing when it is safe to do so) — and I look forward to meeting you!

Lauren Auleciems (Director of Wellness)
I came to The Crossing during the second semester of my sophomore year. At that time in my life, I had been feeling lost and disconnected from God. I came with the hope of rekindling my relationship with God, but I received so much more than that.
The Crossing has not only connected me to some incredibly genuine people but also has given my confidence in my own abilities and while allowing myself to grow.
This year I am taking on the position of Director of Wellness. My goal is to create a safe space for all students while providing access to resources and other information. College can be a very stressful and emotionally draining at times. Especially with everything going on, it’s more important than ever for us to be there for one another and always check in with our friends and loved ones. I can’t wait to meet new people this year and to help others have the best possible experience during their time at UW Madison.  Check out our let’s talk about wellness group!

Peyton Molling (Director of Hospitality)
The Crossing is a place where I can learn more about who I am and who I want to be in a comfortable, supportive environment. Attending worship, bible studies, and other activities have positively impacted my life by allowing me to interact with some of the smartest, kindest, caring, and thoughtful people I have ever met. As the Director of Hospitality for the Fall 2020 semester, my goal is to create a safe space within The Crossing where students can be themselves and explore their diverse interests. I look forward to meeting you and welcoming you to The Crossing in the fall — in person or virtually!
