I am a 2nd year doctoral student in Curriculum and Instruction in the School of Education at UW-Madison. I moved to Madison from Mississippi in the summer of 2008 to begin my graduate studies after teaching for 5 years in the public schools in Tupelo, Mississippi. When I moved to Madison, I was looking for a diverse faith community dedicated to study, worship, service, and fellowship. The Crossing is a vital community in each of these areas. I have enjoyed the many wonderful opportunities I have had to participate in the Crossing community, and I am excited about the coming year. Although I am a graduate student and am older than many of the students involved at the Crossing, I have felt welcomed, challenged, and supported by the community from my first visit to the Crossing for a Vespers service in the fall of 2008.
