"Merely in search of a place to continue practicing my faith, I stumbled into The Crossing my freshman year of college. Unbeknownst to me, what I found was not just a place that I would visit every Sunday evening, but a place that would take me places in return.
In the literal sense, I went to Costa Rica on spring break my freshman year on a quest to examine the connection between spirituality and the environment. This year, I am thrilled to be leading a trip to Kenya in which we will be assisting our friends at the Jirani Project--a grassroots organization to support the education of Kenya's orphaned children.
While these physical trips to other parts of the world have opened my heart and mind in unimaginable ways, the spirit of The Crossing has taken me to great places on my journey of faith, love, compassion, and personal growth. For me, this 'spirit' is comprised of unforgettable friendships and memories formed through years on the leadership team (SALT) and weekly worship services. As a senior, I look forward to continuing my journey, knowing that the spirit of The Crossing will remain with me well beyond graduation."
