The Crossing is a partnership campus ministry of The Wesley Foundation, Wayland Christian Community, Madison Campus Ministry, AND... We are grateful for our affiliations and support (particularly United Methodist, United Church of Christ, American Baptist and Presbyterian Church USA). However, individual support and student participation is open to all and in fact includes a variety of religious traditions, understandings and commitments, for which we are equally grateful. No matter what your religious affiliation (or lack thereof) a warm welcome awaits you at The Crossing. |

The Crossing is a Campus Ministry whose mission is to support university students as they encounter the many crossings of their lives. Here at the university, students experience not just the intersection of streets, but the intersections of their past with their future, science with religion, university with community, nation with world and so much more. We are students and staff from many backgrounds eager to welcome others to join us in our journey of faith growth and service to God. We invite you to bring your faith, questions, doubts, commitment, desire to grow spiritually, desire to be of service to others and join us. | The Crossing . . . | | Maintains a theologically diverse open-minded Christian ministry for students | | Welcomes individuals wherever they find themselves on their faith journey | | Becomes a place where Christian traditions meet and embrace | | Provides opportunities for friendship, guidance, counseling, and community | | Offers freedom to explore, question and affirm faith in a respectful environment | | Strives to be a creative center of transforming life and love | |

These values include peace, forgiveness, love, compassion and a concern for the marginalized and disinherited | | It takes a community to grow in faith | | A mature faith seeks to understand, respect, listen and love, even when disagreements on fundamental issues and beliefs arise | | God is a gracious and welcoming God, so we extend a warm welcome to all | | Christian stewardship cares passionately about our environment |

Madison Campus Ministry Bill Fiore, President " I came to the Crossing Ministry by way of the Wayland Foundation and subsequently Madison Campus Ministry, serving both organization's boards and have served as a past president of the Wayland Foundation and currently as President of Madison Campus Ministry. Although I entered the ministry as a duty to my current church and with a lot of concern about what I perceived to be today's student's lack of spirituality, I have been overwhelmed by how wrong I was --- today's students are spiritually charged in abundance. They have and use energy that takes my breath away. I have come to love the way they can work together, overcoming their religious differences and learning from each other about the vast diversity in modern Christianity. They are unafraid to venture deeply into their world to present living examples of the principles that Christ left to all of us. There is no shortage of energy, commitment, and concern for their world --- its environment, injustices and future. They express and live their spirituality in different ways than I did as a student of the sixties, but nevertheless they are quite remarkably spirit filled and driven. God has granted me the gift to serve for and with these young and deeply inspiring Christians ---certainly one of the greatest gift's he has ever offered me." Jim Hook, Vice President Cecilia Holder, Treasurer Mary Fiore, Secretary Ed Daub Barbara Hummel Gayle Love Gail O'Neal Jim Roseberry The Wesley Foundation of Wisconsin, Inc. Jim Hook, President "As happens in a lot of situations with the church, I was asked to serve on the Wesley Foundation, didn't know how to say no and didn't really know what I was getting into. What I experienced was a real surprise. I became engaged in a ministry to and with some very special people. These young adults are actively and energetically searching for spirituality in fresh, open, and creative ways. The hidden blessing for me, as I have been involved in The Crossing, is that God through these young adults ministers to me in those same fresh, open and creative ways."
